Mushoku Tensei manga ends in volume 26 – Okibata

For the past ten years, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation has kept fans busy, but it all must end. It looks like the Mushoku Tensei light novels are about to come to an end, just like their original book series did years ago.

Rifujin na Magonote’s famous light novels will soon end in Volume 26, according to an update from Media Factory that just went live.

The last volume of Mushoku Tensei

This update indicates that the special edition of the book will be available in Japan at the end of November. This negates the need to speculate on the end date of the light novel. If it ends this fall, Mushoku Tensei will commemorate the eighth anniversary of the light novels just before things end.

Also, it’s reasonable to expect Mushoku Tensei to become reluctant, given that the original books were 25 volumes long.

The franchise will continue after this finale. All 17 volumes of Mushoku Tensei manga are available online. The popular anime series is another matter to consider. Mushoku Tensei received acclaim in its first 23 episodes when Studio Bind commissioned its anime adaptation in 2021.

Is Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation worth the hype?

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation was an anime series that had it all, including an intriguing premise, a terrific cast of characters, and outstanding animation.

It stands to reason that it is considered by many to be the best anime to emerge in 2021, considering all of these positive factors. Unfortunately, it contains a significant flaw – its protagonist – that has the potential to destroy the entire series.

The man brought back to life as a child in this new universe is called Rudeus Greyrat. This reincarnation is essentially a second chance for him as he is reborn with all of his memories and personality from his previous life intact. He is fully equipped with the information and experience accumulated over his previous 34 years of life, which also provides him with a more mature point of view.

Rudeus had lived alone since graduating from high school in his former life. He gave up on life after being ruthlessly abused by his peers and refused to leave his home for fear of further abuse.

Because of this, he effectively became a hermit and a recluse who depended on the generosity and compassion of his parents to survive. It’s easy to sympathize with him, given what happened, but to say he ended up being or, perhaps, always was a creepy pervert would be a gross understatement.

An authoritative main character

The worst thing Rudeus has done is grooming, although everything mentioned above is bad enough. He quietly manipulates girls who haven’t even reached puberty into finding him handsome and falling in love based on his understanding of human behavior and his adult view of his previous existence.

Rudeus invariably starts making plans to get girls his own age to want to have sex with him as soon as he meets them (like at the age he is in his new existence).

The whole situation is ridiculously perverted and morally unacceptable. Although he is physically the same age as the girls he is doing this with, cognitively he is much older than them – by over 30!

That being said, it’s a shame that this is the main character of such a fantastic show since he is, in and of himself, excellent. Even the development and adventures of Rudeus are fascinating to follow. It’s sadly hard to discount elements that never should have been part of the show in the first place once his true character is considered.

Is Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Worth Watching? Yes, but will he ever be able to completely escape the dark shadow cast by his main character? Let’s find out.
