Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Final Chapter Reexamines Eivor’s Relationship With Havi

Ubisoft Forward’s teaser for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Last Chapter DLC (which is free) reveals Eivor’s plans and shows her talking to her previous incarnation Havi. Indeed, while there are plenty of new games like Assassin’s Creed Mirage on the horizon, 2022 is still geared towards Valhalla.

2022 will be its last year of content, however. Earlier this year, Ubisoft released the roguelike DLC game mode Forgotten Saga for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and it intends to wrap things up with the release of the final chapter.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Eivor and Havi, face to face

The Ubisoft Forward teaser is incredibly strong, showing Eivor seemingly talking face-to-face with Havi. Many know that Eivor Varinsdottir is an Isu reincarnation of Havi/Odin. Her interactions with him in the main story mostly took place through a powerful drug-like elixir, but it appears that she speaks to him directly, and is even said to be able to see him standing next to her. What this means remains to be seen, but it has huge implications for the story. After all, Basim was Basim until Loki’s consciousness caught up with him. This could suggest that more of Havi is beginning to take control of Eivor, despite her seemingly turning him down in AC Valhalla’s Asgard storyline.

Plus, it looks like Eivor has some more pressing matters to deal with as well. She finally seems satisfied with her house and her village, which is a little strange but also understandable, and wants to go back on another adventure. There appears to be a voiceover from Basim, who watches this interaction through the animus in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla post-campaign content, and he seems surprised at how she interacts with Havi, his nemesis. Whatever this quest is, Ubisoft confirms that it will conclude many lingering storylines, bring in key characters, bring back other characters, and feature historical characters. While Eivor’s new quest remains to be seen, it will bring Valhalla to a close, and it could provide answers to many of the game’s mysteries.

The most important, for many, is related to the modern story of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. As Layla, Shaun, and Rebecca, they find Eivor’s remains in Vinland, and Basim even wonders later why she was buried there. She goes there at some point in the story, tending to an Apple of Eden, but why to come back and be buried there instead of at home could be the end point of this adventure. Hopefully The Last Chapter wraps this up on a high.
