Lille: for Pink October, a special “Yog’art” session at the Palais des Beaux-Arts

On this occasion, the Palais des Beaux-Arts organized, in partnership with the University Hospital of Lille, an evening Yoga art », between yoga and art. A partnership that proved to be obvious according to Juliette Barthélémy, cultural mediator: ” Femininity is really highlighted by the artists. And in the works, we sometimes find in the models gestures that are reminiscent of self-examination “. The objective was above all to teach the right gestures, in order to detect these lumps in the breast or under an arm, sometimes synonymous with cancer.

Reconnect with your body

Knowing how to spot cancer is one thing, living with it is another. Nina Guéneau, a midwife for fourteen years, understood this well. She animated, in the entrance gallery of the museum, a yoga session thought as a moment of symbiosis. Faced with a disease that disrupts the daily lives of thousands of women each year, the idea is to ” reconnect with your body “, according to this health professional. Unaffected women were also present, like Gaëlle, who had come to try her hand at meditation: “ The setting is great, with sculptures of women around, I feel good there “. Like her, nearly 80 women responded to the call.
