Mélanie Delforge, from the entertainment, culture and communication department, has been actively preparing for the next week of festivities. They will begin this Tuesday, June 21 with the Fête de la Musique on the stage of the Yann-Arthus-Bertrand school.

From 6:30 p.m., a first open stage will welcome local groups and a DJ from Cysoing. Kolor’ados, a choir of 7-18 year olds from Cysoing will perform with several voices. They will be followed by two rock bands from Orchies, Alpaga and Go and Jérôme. The final bouquet will be provided around 9:30 p.m. by Mr. Maxx, the rock nomad, accompanied by a special guest, Chad Strentz. Lovers of captivating sounds and ballads inviting you to travel should be delighted and the spirit of the Fête de la Musique fully respected.
A procession of 500 people
The highlight of the week will be the carnival on Sunday June 26. Placed under the sign of travel around the world. More than 500 people will make up the procession which will leave at 3 p.m. from the Jean-Tiquet stadium, rue du Collège. The vast majority of Cysoing associations have mobilized to participate in the procession as well as the Saint-Exupéry nursery school, the Yann-Arthus-Bertrand school and the Saint-Joseph private school. In addition, many outside companies will animate the parade, such as the world shows, the harmonies of Bailleul and Saint Jans-Cappel, the Lille Animation Brazil company and many others. The three giants of Cysoing will be accompanied by Alicia, princess of the angels of Blaringhem.
Traffic and parking disrupted
The carnival will take a route secured by municipal services. Note that a municipal decree will prohibit traffic and parking from 2 p.m., rue du Collège, Jean-Moulin, Marie-Curie, Salengro, place de la République, Voltaire and Delory. The good weather conditions should favor a good crowd all the way. It is therefore strongly advised to anticipate your parking; the car parks of the Match and Intermarché supermarkets offer possibilities.
The arrival of carnival-goers is scheduled around 5:30 p.m. at the Nomeres site where the mayor, Benjamin Dumortier, will respect tradition and burn Monsieur Carnival.
Refreshments, waffle stands and food truck on site. End of the evening scheduled for 10 p.m.
