From September 24 to October 2, 2022, Lille Cathedral and the diocese of Lille offer a renewed program around the celebrations in honor of Notre-Dame de la Treille, patron saint of the City, of the diocese of Lille. With: a revived novena, a concert, a show straight from Lourdes!
How to make Notre-Dame de la Treille even better known in the diocese of Lille, and also in the city? Every year, festivals of the Treille take place, with various animations. This year, their program is even grander!
In memory of 1634
It is no coincidence that early October was chosen to relaunch the novena to Notre-Dame de la Treille, which had been forgotten for at least 15 years.
“These celebrations commemorate the strong act of Jean Le Vasseur, mayor (that is to say mayor) of the city of Lille who in October 1634 officially dedicated the city to Notre-Dame de la Treille” recalls Thomas Sanchez, cultural manager of the city. “Also, the Countess Marguerite of Flanders instituted festivals in honor of Notre-Dame de la Treille in the 13th century”.
