Diageo India launches Godawan, its artisanal single malt whisky, in international markets

BENGALURU, India, June 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Following the successful launch of Godawan in Jaipur, India, Diageo India is set to introduce the tradition and culture of Rajasthan to the world by bringing this outstanding single malt to various markets around the world.

After the presentation of the committed luxury concept of the Godawan during the 75^e Festival of walking sticks 2022, the “Spirit of the Desert” is now making its way to another iconic desert destination: Dubai.

The Godawan is made in Rajasthan, from which it is inspired. Moreover, this whiskey is entirely faithful to the spirit of this State which advocates the “beauty of rarity” and sustainability. This alcohol pays tribute to the philosophy of its people, known for their skills in preservation and conservation, and for their ability to create exceptional and dazzling objects from the little that nature gives them.

The heat of over 38°C (100°F) combined with 6 row barley, which requires less water, helps create a whiskey of incredible depth, rich and complex character. Due to the aridity, the “angel share” is higher than average in the Godawan. Thus, the taste of the whiskey is incredibly powerful, and this is further enhanced by finishing in special casks containing Indian botanicals.
