Castel’Art near La Gacilly: a Christmas show played from December 19 to 25 in Saint-Martin-sur-Oust

Dancer Diane Cavero and actor Loïc Delattre, from the Cavero-Delattre studio, offer a show during the holidays, from Monday December 19 to Sunday December 25, every day at 6 p.m. “The seven pre-Christmas tales” will be played at Castel’Art, under the magnificent framework of an outbuilding of the Château de Castellan, signposted on the road between Saint-Martin-sur-Oust and Saint-Congard.

A suite of seven traditional tales

“It’s a series of seven stories that show the stages of preparation for Advent”, detail Diane Cavero and Loïc Delattre, who met at Puy du Fou park where they worked as artists: ” Preparing the Christmas tree, writing the letter to Santa Claus, the arrival of winter, the opening of the Advent calendar, the angels getting ready, the Three Kings. These stories, “we adapted them from popular tales. They are connected by a red thread skilfully sewn by the couple of artists.

Dance and theatre, light effects and music

“It is thus the whole universe of Christmas which is presented, in such a way as to speak to everyone, by mixing dance and theater, light effects and music” specific to the creations refined with clockwork precision by the inventive and talented duo.

“It’s our artistic signature, to compose shows with a lot of details, effects and techniques. We still have as much fun playing as part of Castel’Art! »

A gauge of 48 spectators

Their theater with a capacity of 48 spectators was nicely decorated for this “first Christmas, which we hope to make permanent”. A platform at the back of the room allows the public in the last row not to miss anything of the “show in all its dimensions”.

The public is invited to park in the driveway of the castle and walk along the path punctuated with lights. “Audiences will be immersed in the Christmas spirit as soon as they arrive. A few steps lead to the entrance to the theatre, which is reached by a flight of stairs. Warm clothes are recommended as the theater is only partially heated.

You have to wait until the first Monday of the school holidays to applaud this new show at Castel’Art. “Because we are going to play it every day the previous week, in the West of France in theaters, schools, for town halls…”
