Near La Ferté-sous-Jouarre: Halloween in all its forms

Dancing evening, drawing contest, image hunt, fear course, on the occasion of Halloween, there was something for everyone in Brie.

Celebrations long before D-Day

Every afternoon before Halloween night, the Grange de Nolongues, in Jouarre, offered the children to have their makeup done by a professional makeup artist. A competition for the most terrifying drawing was opened allowing the winner to win a basket worth 30 euros. Sweets were also offered to children and adults throughout the week.

Various creative workshops were offered the previous week at La Ferte-sous-Jouarre : flower arrangement at Domisse, carvings on pumpkins, creations of bat frames and decorations, pumpkins and Halloween landscapes, shows for children with Ornella the witch and Harry Potter at the municipal theater with Féeriqu’event.

From October 22 to November 6, during the All Saints school holidays, the park Parrot World swapped the eternal witch hats and ghost costumes to take its visitors on a journey to South America and celebrate together El Dia de Los Muertos. For disguised children on 1^er November, entrance to the park was free.

A weekend full of terrifying surprises

On the side of Sainte Aulde, the Festive Spirit association had organized the festivities. About sixty children gathered to go door to door and demand sweets in the town, but also in the hamlets of Caumont, Moitiebard and Chamoust. The children then enjoyed a musical snack.

A course of fear was offered, but this time for adults and teenagers. Thirty brave participants met a resurrected clown, terrifying mannequins, monsters emerging from bushes and a scary zombie.

The festival committee Luzancy welcomed families to the home for an afternoon on the theme of fear. On the program, music, games, activities, pancake sale, candy distribution and make-up stand.

At the Municipal Theater La Ferte-sous-Jouarrethe Cultivores Fertois association organized an afternoon and a ball at the municipal theatre.

Finally, to Jouarre, on the 31st, the youth team of the town hall had invited the children to a hunt for images and sweets leading them to the residents of La Houssaie, which gave the opportunity for a moment of joyful sharing between all. The disguised wolves were warmly welcomed by the director of the establishment who wishes to favor these intergenerational exchanges which are very beneficial to the residents. The children then went to the multipurpose room for the traditional candy distribution of the festival committee.

The Féériqu’event association, for example, offered a giant Cluedo evening at La Ferte-sous-Jouarre Saturday October 29. This evening was reserved for 16 years and over.

To Jouarrethe same evening, the Clave Caliente team took over the multipurpose room and awaited the bravest in its blood room in the company of its brain-eater DJ Willo and evil wizards, for its evening Blood on the dance floor.

Word of mouth having done its work, the municipality of Saint-Cyr-sur-Morin experienced a huge influx of participants for its “Peur sur Saint-Cyr” circuit which led the brave from the cemetery of the headless horseman to a haunted house in the old town hall, passing through places infested with killer clowns, hungry ogresses, dead crusader soldiers with their sharpened swords and even monsters equipped with chainsaws. An unforgettable moment with family or friends.

The festivities are not over

This Saturday, November 5, the municipality of Discount will inaugurate its Witchcraft Festival (read on page 19). Young and old will discover the world of the witch from the morning with creative workshops for children, games, the apothecary’s stand and its mysterious bottles, as well as the famous dance of the witches. The high point of this day will probably be the sound and light show projected on the facade of the tourist office at 6 p.m.
