If you needed a well-built laptop with a solid configuration without putting all your savings into it, this Asus Vivobook 14 has something to satisfy, especially going from 799 to 499 euros.

With a large number of models, the Asus Vivobook range allows you to find a configuration that meets your needs. This Vivobook 14 has a previous generation AMD Ryzen 7 processor, but still has plenty of resources. It is currently on promotion with a reduction of 300 euros on the manufacturer’s online store.

Solid finishes and a serious configuration for the price

Let’s start with the bad news: no, this model of Vivobook does not offer an OLED panel. We will have to settle for a classic 14-inch LCD screen, but of good quality. The latter displays a Full HD definition of 1920 × 1080 pixels at 60 Hz, all with an anti-reflective coating to be used also outdoors.

This tile also comes with an elegant design. We feel the know-how of the manufacturer, which delivers a sober and serious design. It takes up little space with its thickness of 1.99 cm and its weight of less than 1.5 kg. Thus, it will slip quite easily into a bag and will be the ideal traveling companion. With its discreet style and its slender chassis, this Vivobook is not poor in connectivity, however. On its edges, there is a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, an HDMI 1.4 port, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, two UBC 2.0 Type A ports, and the classic jack plug completes the whole thing.

A solid setup

The Taiwanese manufacturer has not neglected the technical sheet of its ultrabook. There is an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H chip that can go up to 4.2 GHz, 8 GB of RAM in LPDDR4X format and 512 GB of SSD storage via an NVMe module. With such a configuration, the ultrabook behaves like a charm, whether for office automation, or to run more advanced applications. On the other hand, it will quickly be limited for extensive use in gaming. It incorporates a chipsets AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics which still allows you to run some esports and 2D games very correctly. Wireless connections are ensured by the presence of Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

With all these elements, the computer is quite durable. The device is able to last about 9 hours in typical use with its 3-cell Li-ion battery of 42 W / h. However, this model unfortunately does not offer fast charging despite its 90 W power supply.
