Oise: what is the new challenge for Evelyne, a well-known dance teacher from the Picardy Plateau?

They are about thirty registered in four groups: a good start for Evelyne Lenne! This former dance teacher, well known in the sector, decided to create her own dance and yoga classes. Classes began, this fall, in the hall of his village of Catillon-Fumechon. A change, a challenge? “Rather a continuity“, corrects the business manager, at the head of “Chemin yoga”.

Every Wednesday, from 5 p.m., Evelyne therefore offers four sessions: a first for 2-6 year olds devoted to the discovery of parent/child dance; a second of modern ‘jazz, discovery or deepening, for 6 to 10 year olds; a third of modern ‘jazz for teenagers or adults with experience, and finally, a vinyasa yoga class.

If Evelyne is well known in the world of dance, her arrival in yoga is a surprise… although. “At the end of the dance classes, during the stretching sequence, I liked to go to yogasays Evelyn. Then the confinement arrived, and the idea of ​​training myself in the discipline arrived. There are different forms of yoga, and I wanted to find the one that suited me best; so I went to one with movement“.

Evelyne looked for training, then, once the funding was validated, started: “it was necessary to acquire a whole theoretical pad, then also to carry out video lessons to validate the training. I then carried out “test” courses on my relatives…. All this training, through the knowledge acquired and the encounters it allowed, was very exciting!“, analyzes today the one who started classical dance, at the age of 7, in the early seventies.

“I remember going to learn the steps of classical dance, in an apartment in Creil“, recalls Evelyne. Then, like many young girls of the time living in Montataire or the Creil basin, she joined the prestigious gymnastics club of Montataire, Espérance. She will stay there until she enters second. “The gym requires big sacrifices, you have to know how to cash in the championships. It prepares for life!”

After three years outside the region during which she wanted to prepare for training as a veterinary assistant, she returned to the gym, and became a supervisor from 17 to 23 years old. She passes the state patent as a free candidate, and chooses the dance module… The story with the discipline then begins for her.

And, when in 1992, she left her job with the Chausson company, during the second big wave of layoffs, dancing, and her state certificate, gave her a new lease of life by allowing her to give lessons. Because the one who trains regularly – in Afro-American dance or in… sign language – likes to break the codes. Thus, her dance classes for children are open to so-called different children and she also offers yoga classes for disabled adults.
