Make way for the 39th edition of the International Balloon Festival – Le Canada Français

In addition to the wide variety of shows offered from August 13 to 21, the 39th edition of the International de montgolfières will also be an opportunity for festival-goers to see 80 hot air balloons up close, to attend four magical nights and to take part in yoga sessions. Activities among many others

In all, the festival will host 80 hot air balloons, including 12 special shapes. Among these, we find well-known figures, including Piko which will be piloted by the Johannais Jesse Duval-Harbour, as well as Ti-gars and Tite-daughter, piloted by Richard and Jacob Vaillancourt, also from Saint-Jean-sur- Richelieu. As for the other special shapes, they come from different regions of Canada, the United States and South America. It will be possible to admire in the sky Torii from Longueuil, Speedy Snail from Quebec, Mr. Fish from Lévis, Miss Birdie, Tiky the tropical fish and Aphasia the alien from Vankleek Hill, Alien Rocket from Ottawa, D-Bat from Binghamton and Ted & Lindy from Sao Paulo.

Festival-goers will also be able to attend four magical nights on August 13, 14, 17 and 20, around 9 p.m. In case of bad weather, the magic nights will be canceled and will not be postponed.

Other activites
It will also be possible to enjoy several immersive activities, including the Envelope Experience, which allows you to set foot in an envelope of hot air balloons, and to visit the Hot Air Balloon Interpretation Center (CIM). Built on the festival site, this center offers an in-depth look at this discipline thanks to a touch table, a reactive nacelle and virtual reality headsets.

It will also be possible to take part in a tethered flight which consists of boarding a hot air balloon attached to the ground and experiencing the different stages of a take-off, then flying off about 50 feet from the ground. This activity, offered at a cost of $10, will be held in the evenings starting at 5 p.m., conditions permitting.

Profits will be donated to the Health Foundation and the Cégep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Foundation.

Yoga flights
The flight yoga activity is back again this year. Participants will be able to take part in a 60-minute session in symbiosis with a morning flight of hot air balloons. Two screenings for up to 150 people are scheduled for August 13 and 14, between 6:15 and 7:15 a.m. approximately. The rate is set at $28.74 per participant, which includes a parking space and taxes.

Note that you must bring your own equipment for this activity, namely a mat, a bottle of water and wear comfortable clothes. In the event of unfavorable conditions, the sessions will be postponed to August 20 and 21. This information will be conveyed on the social networks of the festival.

Attractions and games
Children and teenagers will also have fun on the site with the return of the area filled with various inflatable games for all tastes, including themed installations, sports and courses. This section will be accessible every day until 8:30 p.m.

Young people will also be able to dive into a ball pool, play in a large sandbox filled with accessories and explore the Lagoon, a large pool of water on which they can navigate in a pedal boat.

The famous Beauce Carnival rides are also back with a selection of attractions for young and old. Inside the site, festival-goers can also indulge in several interesting games
