We were surprised there wasn’t an option to configure the laptop with an OLED display, however, especially at this price range.
The speakers are detailed and have decent stereo separation thanks to their placement on either side of the keyboard. Don’t expect them to blow your mind, as they are sorely lacking in bass and can’t be particularly loud. They’re fine for Zoom calls and watching YouTube at home, but we’d recommend pairing them with decent headphones for any serious content consumption.
The webcam is 1080p, so it offers more detail than its 720p rivals, but we weren’t terribly impressed with the image fidelity. Dynamic range is poor, and you’ll often end up with a blown-out background or an overexposed face. In all but the most ideal lighting scenarios, images become grainy very quickly. Still, that’s probably enough for your work meetings, and we were happy to find a physical privacy button to mute the webcam when not in use.

With an Intel i7 12700H, RTX 3050, fast storage, and plenty of RAM, the Yoga Slim 7i Pro X will tackle most tasks without breaking a sweat. The dedicated GPU is especially useful if you’re editing video and really speeds up your render times.
Those specs also mean it’ll be able to handle some games without issue, and to us that’s a pretty attractive proposition. Gaming laptops are typically thicker, heavier devices with garish aesthetics and plastic construction. We were impressed with the performance of the Lenovo, which combines gaming prowess with a solid build, lightweight chassis and low-profile design, which is a big win for us.
In GTA V at 1080p resolution, the laptop managed a solid 110fps when plugged into AC power. On battery power, with Windows set to performance mode, results were less consistent but gaming stayed north of 60fps, frequently hovering around 80fps. Not bad for such a thin and light device.
Sure, battery life is reduced if you’re gaming on the go, but the same can be said for most dedicated gaming laptops. When you don’t have the RTX 3050 flexing its muscles, battery life is much more reasonable, typically around 7-10 hours.
It comes with a 100W USB-C charger in the box, which Lenovo claims will get you over 3 hours of extra battery life in just 15 minutes. We found it took under an hour and a half to fully charge the device, which is plenty quick enough for us – and the power brick isn’t too heavy, either.
