Lenovo Yoga AIO 7: an all-in-one PC better than an iMac?

Lenovo is renewing its range of PCs with, in particular, the Yoga AIO 7, an elegant all-in-one model equipped with a large 4K screen and the latest generation components. Enough to compete with the famous Apple iMac M1.

Nomadism obliges, fixed computers have been less popular than laptops for a few years. However, they still have many advantages, both in terms of power and comfort, especially for all those who telecommute at home. And if the big towers remain de rigueur among gamers, who like to assemble tailor-made configurations, the all-in-one format is more suitable for classic use, especially when it comes to installing the PC in a living room or a living room. In this field, Apple remains a reference with its famous iMac with a refined design, especially since they have gained in performance by switching to the M1 chip last year (see our article). However, even if they occupy the front of the media scene for months, the manufacturers have not abandoned this market segment and some continue to supply it with models that do not have to be ashamed in the face of the stars struck by the apple.

This is the case of Lenovo, which is currently renewing its Yoga range with the latest generation components – in particular with the new Intel and AMD processors –, and which has just presented a new version of its all-in-one PC. , the Yoga AIO 7 (AIO for all-in-one). The Yoga AIO 7 vintage 2022 thus retains what is the same original design as its predecessor, with a large 27-inch screen – which can be rotated 90 degrees to put itself in portrait mode and tilt easily thanks to a clever hinge – associated with fairly large block which contains almost all the electronics, the assembly being mounted on a square foot which takes up less surface than on the previous model in order to free up more space on the desk.

Unlike Apple, which integrates everything behind the slab to favor finesse, Lenovo has chosen a “modular” solution, the Yoga AIO 7 appearing relatively massive while remaining very elegant with its silver finish. Technologically, it still benefits from a 4K-Ultra HD (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) IPS-type panel offering very wide viewing angles and covering 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut to ensure excellent image quality. display with very good color rendering. The audio has not been forgotten, with an amplified stereo system (2x 5 watts) signed JBL, a guarantee of quality according to Lenovo, promising generous bass thanks to the addition of passive speakers.

The relative overweight of the Yoga AIO 7 has enabled Lenovo to integrate numerous connectors into the chassis, distributed at the back and on the sides. There are indeed no less than seven USB ports (including four USB-C type), a DisplayPort port (for an external screen), an Ethernet port (RJ-45) and a classic audio input-output (in mini-jack ). What to face practically all situations by connecting all kinds of peripherals, especially since these “physical” connectors are supported by Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5. Also noteworthy, the astonishing removable high definition webcam ( 5 megapixels) with an infrared system. In short, a very complete range, pure personal and professional use.

It is especially inside that Lenovo has made something new. Thus, the Yoga AIO 7 vintage 2022 embeds a processor AMD Ryzen of the brand new 6000 series (Ryzen 5 5 6600H or Ryzen 7 6800H) associated with state-of-the-art DDR5 RAM (16 or 32 GB) and, as an option, a graphics circuit from the AMD Radeon RX family (a 6600M with 8 GB of dedicated memory). Enough to ensure excellent performance in all areas, including video games and digital creation. Lenovo also insists on the integration of an exclusive heat dissipation system, supposed to be efficient and silent. To be checked in practice, noise being an essential element of comfort.

According to Lenovo, the new Yoga AIO 7 will be available by the end of June 2022, in different configurations. the basic model will be marketed at 1500 euros, which remains very reasonable given its characteristics, especially when compared to the current iMac M1, equipped with a smaller screen. Everything suggests that it should be at least as successful as its predecessor, which is regularly out of stock at merchants.
