The Inclusion Challenge, created by the APICIL Group, highlights citizen initiatives for a more inclusive society

The inclusion of people, regardless of their disability, illness, precariousness, origin (social, geographical, ethnic, etc.), age, sex, gender or physical appearance, is everyone’s business. If today, France is recognized by a majority of citizens as being an inclusive society (56%, up 4 points1), many efforts are still needed to make inclusion a reality for all. It is thanks to both collective and individual initiatives that the fight against inequalities and exclusion will progress. Faced with this observation, the APICIL Group, 3th French social protection group, has created the Challenge Inclusion, the award ceremony of which for the 2nd edition has just taken place.

The objective of the Inclusion Challenge is to source, highlight and reward citizen initiatives which, at their level, contribute to making society more inclusive. It was therefore open to anyone who has implemented a project whose aim is to fight against exclusion, whether it is linked to disability, state of health, illness, precariousness, origins, age, sexual orientation, gender and physical appearance. After collecting around thirty applications from inclusive project leaders, the APICIL Group invited Internet users to visit the dedicated digital platform challenge-inclusion.fr to select their favorite initiatives. The 10 acclaimed initiatives were then presented to the 15 members of the jury, made up of employees, administrators, institutions, partners and customers of the APICIL Group, who designated 3 winners. And novelty of this 2th edition: an Employee Favorite Prize was awarded by all APICIL employees, they were invited to vote for their favorite initiative among the 7 non-winning finalist projects.

The award ceremony took place during a program offered in Web TV format and broadcast live on challenge-inclusion.fr and on the Group’s social networks. The winning project leaders, APICIL employees and experts/influencers on the subject, including Martin Petit, sponsor of the operation this year, discussed several topics related to inclusion. Quadriplegic since a diving accident in 2017, Martin Petit has decided to get involved through social networks to defend the inclusion of people with disabilities.

This association aims to make travel accessible to hospitalized, sick or disabled children and to help them become the adventurers they dream of. TEP’S reproduces television formats such as Koh-Lanta, Beijing Express or Journey to Unknown Land and offers children the opportunity to test them with the aim of pushing them beyond their limits.

In order to help them grow their project, each of the winners was rewarded with an endowment of €5,000 from the APICIL social welfare fund.

“By creating the Inclusion Challenge, the APICIL Group wanted to add its stone to the building in order to make society more inclusive. It makes it possible to inform the general public of citizen and associative initiatives and to promote the subject of inclusion as widely as possible. We are mobilizing several actors around this project, associations, public authorities and bloggers/influencers, it is together that we will manage to move the lines. And this year, we are delighted that our employees are awarding their Coup de Coeur Prize, a way for us to continue to raise awareness about inclusion. The challenges of CSR, diversity and inclusion are a major priority for the APICIL Group, which is why we are striving to deploy numerous actions in order to progress in this area while encouraging other companies to do the same. For example, we created the site monentrepriseinclusive.com to promote good practices in terms of inclusion. ” highlighted Philippe Barret, Managing Director of the APICIL Group.
