A yoga studio and a wellness boutique are opening in the heart of Weppes

A place located in a small corner of nature to treat yourself to a moment just for yourself. HAS Fromelles, a municipality of metropolis of Lille located in the Weppes, Kara Studio just opened its doors. In an old farmhouse completely renovated, there is a yoga studio and an wellness shop. From La Défense to the Weppes countryside

It is a culmination for Laura Descamps, the young woman behind this beautiful opening. This yoga teacher first launched the Atelier Kara brand 2 years ago. But his initial project was indeed to open his own studio. It was with a career in the oil industry, an environment far removed from her current aspirations, that she began. “I worked at La Défense, in Paris. I started taking yoga classes and I was passionate about it. And at the same time, I was diagnosed with endometriosis. This is where I became interested in alternative medicine to treat myself. »

The young woman makes the decision to leave her Parisian life to go and train as a yoga teacher in Bali. But, a week before his departure, the borders of the whole world close: it is the arrival of the Covid and the first confinement. Forced to return to live with her parents, she did not let herself be discouraged and launched Atelier Kara. This brand offers lithotherapy items (care with stones), bath salts, medicinal herbal teas.

Two years later, and after finally having managed to go to Bali to obtain her yoga teacher diploma, Laura realizes her dream: to open her own yoga studio. To install it, she chose an old farm, in the heart of the countryside. “I chose to settle in the Weppes because, unlike Lille, there aren’t many places to do yoga here. People have to travel quite a bit,” explains Laura.

Yoga classes, wellness and treatment boutique

In this green setting, the young woman has 90m2. On the ground floor, there is a yoga space, with only 6 mats, for semi-private lessons. “It allows us to best support each student in their practice and to intervene to adjust the postures. In total, four teachers will intervene, to give lessons of all levels and different styles (Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and others…).

The shop part extends over 30m2. Students and customers will be able to obtain Atelier Kara products: crystals, interior mists, sage… Monthly well-being workshops will also be organized in this space.

Finally, the first floor will be dedicated to treatments, massages and coaching sessions, all given by a professional.

To discover this place entirely dedicated to well-being, go to 9 rue de Lommeries in Fromelles. Saturday January 21, 2023, an open day is organized to discover Studio Kara. On the program are free yoga classes per 30-minute session to test the different practices offered.

Thereafter, it will be necessary to count 18€ per lesson. “I aligned myself with the price of other studios,” says Laura. There will also be course books, allowing you to benefit from decreasing prices.
