RETURNS
This film is an integral part of the many cinematographic collaborations between composer Ennio Morricone and director Pier Paolo Pasolini. Pier Paolo Pasolini’s film kicks off the opening credits on an alto saxophone tune with which it also ends. This jazzy music recalls what Komeda did for Polanski a few years earlier (The Knife in the Water, 1962). The rest of the score for this film is quite different since we find the dissonant vein of Morricone inherited from Ligeti.
