RTLPlay: what’s new for December 2022?

A few days ago, RTLPlay launched its special Christmas channel, back during the holiday season, to provide us all with our dose of festive atmosphere anytime. “Put on your slippers and snuggle up in your favorite throw, the most magical time of the year is starting again. ” explained RTL Belgium then, recalling that lots of films in the theme will be available 24 hours a day.

Alongside this little nugget, the streaming platform also offers several family programs, to be discovered well installed under the duvet, with a good hot chocolate or even a mulled wine.

“Grand Hotel” (in full) – December 1

Summary: 1905. A young man named Julio arrives at the Grand Hotel, a magnificent palace where wealthy families of the Spanish nobility like to stay, to investigate the disappearance of his sister, Cristina, housekeeper at the hotel.

“Sissi the Empress” (miniseries) – December 17

Summary: Empress Elisabeth, nicknamed Sissi, was a pop star and influencer of her time at the end of the 19th century, an icon in Europe and around the world. Her photos, depicting her legendary beauty, have since become successful merchandising items and are a symbol of European royalty as a whole.

“For worse and for better” – December 16

Summary: Melvin Udall, a misanthropic writer, writes a series of sentimental novels that satisfy his perverse sense of self-mockery and allow him to live comfortably. His life is regulated like clockwork, he avoids human contact except that of Carol Connelly, a young single mother, waitress in a restaurant where he takes his meals. One day, Simon Bishop, her neighbor, a gay artist, is disfigured by two thugs, Carol’s son falls ill and Melvin inherits Simon’s dog during his stay in the hospital. Her life is completely turned upside down.

“My Beloved Witch” – December 16

Summary: Isabel, a sublime witch determined to live without witchcraft, goes to Hollywood to find love among mortals. There, she meets Jack, an actor who persuades her to play alongside him in the remake of the famous series “My Beloved Witch”. Our two heroes will fall in love, and in spite of themselves provoke a collision between their two worlds.

“Big Fish” – December 16

Summary: The funny and poignant story of Edward Bloom, an imaginative father, and his son William. The latter returns to the family home after having left it a long time ago, to be at the bedside of his father, who is suffering from cancer. He wants to know him better and discover his secrets before it’s too late. The adventure will begin when William tries to discern the true from the false in the words of his dying father.

“Hook” – December 16

Summary: Peter Banning alias Peter Pan has become a brilliant business lawyer who has forgotten all about his wonderful adventures. But the terrible Captain Hook has not forgotten. To finally settle their account, one night he kidnaps Jack and Maggie, Peter’s children. It is in the company of Tinkerbell that Peter takes off again for the Imaginary Country.

“The Daughters of Doctor March” – December 16

Summary: A new adaptation of “Doctor March’s Four Daughters” inspired by both the great literary classic and the writings of Louisa May Alcott. A personal rereading of the book, “The Daughters of Doctor March” is a film that is both timeless and current in which Jo March, the author’s fictitious alter ego, thinks back on her life.

“My greatest enemy” – December 16

Summary: Isabel Kelly, young fashion photographer and girlfriend of Luke Harrison, and Jackie, the legitimate wife of the same Luke, hate each other. The latter, always very present, does not forgive her rival for her inability to match her. Isabel fails to be accepted by Anna and Ben, the two children of Luke and Jackie. It is between the two women a deaf war of trenches.

“The Fisher King” – December 16

Summary: Arrogant, irreverent, the famous radio host Jack Lucas triumphs on the airwaves and nothing could stop his rise.
