Moonscars and Biomorph announced for Nintendo Switch

Lucid Dreams Studio today announced Biomorph, a 2D Metroidvania game with action and soul. It will debut on Switch sometime in 2023. Biomorph takes place in a sprawling, hand-drawn 2D world where enemies are everywhere.

In Biomorph, players must use their skills to explore a vast and varied world. Solve puzzles and platforming challenges, fight deadly monsters and take their forms to use their powers. But be careful, each conquered creature can come back with new, even more threatening powers.

Players must rebuild the town of Blightmoor, befriend the inhabitants and learn more about their origins and those of the town. Players will level up their character by battling in the vast areas around the city, collecting new abilities, keepsakes, and blueprints. The journey will reveal surprising and alarming truths about our hero’s origins.

• Embody enemies by killing them and taking their form. Players will be able to use their skills to battle other enemies or use their powers to navigate uncharted territories.
• Fight through a challenging AI system where previously imitated creatures unlock new powers to create a unique experience by revisiting areas of the game.
• Explore a vast, interconnected, non-linear world made up of 16 different environments, home to optional boss fights, quirky NPCs, tons of secrets and upgrades to reward the most daring explorer.
• Choose your fighting style using an arsenal of melee and ranged weapons, each with their own upgrade trees, to punch and shoot enemies.
• Create different builds to support individual playstyles by equipping and mixing different unique skills that you can upgrade.
• Customize the appearance of the game’s main hub, Blightmoor, to have a unique experience and feel at home.

Publisher Humble Games and developer Black Mermaid confirmed today that 2D action-platformer Moonscars is on its way to the Switch. It’s slated for release on September 27, 2022. Moonscars was announced earlier this year, but this is the first we’ve heard of plans for the game on Switch. We have lots of additional information in the preview below.
