Paris Saint-Germain striker says he wants to leave Ligue 1 club were ‘wrong’

French soccer star Kylian Mbappe took advantage of a post-match interview on Sunday to deny rumors that he is keen to leave club Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer market.

Explosive reports from Marca and RMC Sport claimed last week that Mbappe felt ‘betrayed’ by his club, accusing them of breaking a number of promises made after snubbing Real Madrid in May to sign a contract extension lucrative with PSG until 2025.

Mbappe was planning to move away from the Parc des Princes in January, the Qatar-backed giants would be ready to accept the transfer of the 23-year-old as long as it was not in Madrid.

Some sources have claimed that PSG will demand a minimum of 400 million euros ($390 million) for their striker, which would crush the transfer world record last broken in 2017 when PSG activated the release clause of 222. million euros ($216 million) from Neymar to Barcelona.

After Sunday’s 1-0 home win over bitter rivals Marseille, where Neymar scored the winner, Mbappe refuted the rumors and claimed he was “very happy” where is he.

“I did not ask to leave PSG in January” Mbappé insisted with RMC Sport.

“I’m not mad at the club, that’s not true.

“I was as shocked by this news as everyone. People may think I’m involved, [but] I am not at all,” Mbappe added.

“I was taking a nap, my entourage was at my little brother’s game. We were stunned when we found out… I just wanted to say that’s completely wrong. I am very happy here.

Mbappe’s latest remarks come after he hinted at a more specific potential move to Liverpool or Real Madrid as he attended an event to launch his ‘Inspired by KM’ philanthropy project in Paris a few days ago.

“For now, (I only think about winning) a second World Cup. After that, I don’t know” Mbappe replied with a smile when asked by RMC Sport about moving on to one of last season’s Champions League runners-up.

PSG hired an army of trolls to smear critics – media

PSG are three points clear of second-placed Lorient at the top of the Ligue 1 table after Sunday’s victory and are back in action on Friday night when they travel to Ajaccio.

In the Champions League, the Parisians are tied on eight points with Benfica at the top of Group H, meaning a victory for them against Maccabi Haifa next week will guarantee their passage to the knockout stages.

Mbappe can then head to Qatar 2022 with a clear head, having also put a witchcraft scandal involving teammate Paul Pogba and brother Mathias Pogba behind him.

Mathias Pogba has claimed that Paul Pogba hired a wizard known as a marabout to hurt Mbappe.

But Mbappe has shown a willingness to believe Paul Pogba’s version of the story – that he contracted the marabout but only to try and keep himself off the operating table – for the sake of Didier Deschamps. Bleus, who begin the defense of their 2018 title against Australia on November 22.
