Deadpool 3 may be the MCU movie you wish Doctor Strange 2 had been | Pretty Reel

The arrival of Wade Wilson and Wolverine MCU from Deadpool 3 suggests it could be a bigger multiversal story than Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The MCU’s next Deadpool 3 may match the multiverse hype that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness had before its release. With the culmination of the Infinity Saga, Phase 4 of the MCU began to showcase the infinite possibilities of the Multiverse. From Loki to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, various Phase 4 releases have set the confusing rules of the MCU Multiverse. Although how the multiverse saga will develop in the next phases has yet to be revealed, its debut has already seen the return of characters such as Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men, as well as the introduction by Reed Richards by John Krasinski.

An MCU movie with a title like “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” seems like it could reveal the true expanse of the MCU Multiverse across countless alternate universes and multiversal variants of known and unknown Marvel characters. Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange sequel introduced the Illuminati of the 838 universe and provided a fleeting glimpse into a handful of multiversal realities. However, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness mostly left out exploring the multiverse in order to focus on the battle between Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch on the Darkhold. Naturally, this was kind of a disappointment for many fans who were hoping for a more multiversal focus.

Following that disappointment, Deadpool 3 can truly deliver multiversal madness. Not only will Wade Wilson’s Deadpool join the MCU, but he’ll also bring Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine from Fox’s X-Men universe. While no other mutant characters have been confirmed to accompany them, Deadpool 3 is still the perfect movie to add dozens of outlandish Multiverse cameos and realities, perhaps surpassing the Illuminati intro of Multiverse of Madness. Deadpool 3 could give a final goodbye to popular X-Men actors such as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, James Marsden and Ian McKellen – and any possible inconsistencies with Fox’s X-Men franchise could be justified by Deadpool’s self-aware nature. Bringing these actors back would also give fans their long-awaited dose of MCU mutants before Marvel Studios introduces the definitive new generation of MCU-born mutants. Thanks to all of these factors, Deadpool 3 can finally deliver on the multiversal ambitions promised by Doctor Strange 2.

Deadpool 3 will have to deal with the Multiverse one way or another

Deadpool 3 just can’t avoid dealing with the multiverse. It’s easy for Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool to figure out he’s from Fox’s X-Men franchise, and he’ll likely know he’s bringing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to the MCU with him. The big question is how they can get there. If not through sorcery like in Spider-Man: No Way Home, then it could be through technologies like He Who Remains and TVA. Either way, Deadpool may be able to stay in the MCU without causing a multiversal incursion.

Deadpool can take advantage of his multiverse journey to visit more parts of the multiverse than Doctor Strange did in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In addition to meeting all the other X-Men cast, Deadpool could continue the post-credits scene gag from Deadpool 2, where Deadpool visited various points in Fox’s X-Men timeline and even killed off his past as X. -Men Origins: Wolverine. In Deadpool 3, he could visit the alternate universes of X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, or Logan, where a version of Wolverine died. It’s also a great opportunity to recruit mutants with lots of potential for future MCU stories, including Zazie Beetz’s Domino and Dafne Keen’s X-23. Although Deadpool 3 doesn’t look like a multiversal movie, Wade Wilson’s groundbreaking nature can make it very easy for Deadpool 3 to tell a much larger multiversal story than Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
