The Circle of Actions for the Economic and Social Development of Burkina Faso (CADES-BF) was in front of the press on October 7, 2022. The CADES presents itself as a group of intellectuals and executives of the administration, which wants to be a force proposal to accompany the new authorities. He says he also wants, through this media release, to challenge the “street CSOs” who will soon begin the ballet of demonstrations and press conferences in support or disapproval of the new power.
According to CADES-BF, it was the mixed results of MPSR 1 that led to “the rectification of September 30, 2022”, with the coming to power of Captain Ibrahim Traoré. And the strong mobilization of the population to welcome the new authorities calls into question the many challenges to be met by them. Almost daily terrorist attacks, soaring prices of basic necessities, high cost of living, large number of internally displaced persons, disruption of agricultural and pastoral activities, these are all difficulties facing Burkinabè, who are waiting for appropriate solutions from the from the leaders.
For a return to peace and social cohesion, CADES-BF has made a set of proposals that could guide the MPSR 2 in its mission to restore the State. These include, among other things, the mobilization of all the populations around the defense and security forces for the reconquest of the territory, the promotion of cohesion within the population and the defense and security forces, the establishment of a framework for reflection and action for peace, the diversification of partners in the fight against terrorism as well as the renegotiation of cooperation agreements with France.

He also invites Captain Ibrahim Traoré and his comrades to take all the necessary measures to restore and strengthen security throughout the national territory, to make the fight against corruption a priority and to thoroughly reform the army. in the grip of division.
According to Djourmité Nestor Noufe, coordinator of CADES-BF, their support for the new authorities stems from the fact that they have noted their good intentions. He adds that Burkina Faso would benefit from supporting the transition, so that it is a success, because the future of the country is at stake. The first person in charge of CADES-BF specifies that his organization is a group of intellectuals and executives of the administration, which wants to be a force proposal to accompany the new authorities, and not an additional support. “Very often, the intellectuals are in our offices to criticize, we do not make proposals and we always leave the CSOs, people without vision and without level and it is they who direct us”, he specifies. , before adding that this is the reason why the intellectuals have decided to take matters into their own hands and act in a positive way.

With regard to partnerships in the fight against terrorism, CADES-BF asserts that it is not anti-French. He only believes that France must review its cooperation with Burkina Faso. “It is at the level of the security expenditure component that the problem arises. We cannot be an independent state and go through another friendly state to be able to order our military equipment. It’s not normal, it’s over and we say no, ”explained Djourmité Nestor Noufe.
