Saint Seiya also called in French: The Knights of the Zodiac is a manga by Masami Kurumada. It was very successful, as this manga sold over 50,000 copies worldwide.
Inspired by various mythologies such as Greek, Scandinavian, Japanese as well as Buddhist mythologies; Masami Kurumada creates an original universe. You will see in this manga a mixture of cultural references which is manifested by the clothing of the knights according to the style of the samurai fighters of medieval Japan with attacks of superheroes. You have certainly already followed season 1 on Netflix, however, you will no longer have this possibility with season 2.
No season 2 for Saint Seiya on Netflix: Why?
The first season of Saint Seiya was released on Netflix in 2019, however the second season will not. Indeed, when it aired on Netflix in 2019, a lot of negative reviews were raised. And for good reason the non-respect of manga chara-design, the taking of liberty with the plot of the original work. So in view of all this the American-Japanese co-production has come to an end. And so there will be no season 2 for Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya on Netflix. However, it should be noted that it is now Crunchyroll which will take care of the distribution of season 2 of the manga series.
In the meantime, let’s hope that the errors are corrected during the broadcast of this second season and that manga series fans are satisfied.
Saint Seiya: Prologue
In Knights of the Zodiac Seiya as well as the Knights of the Zodiac make a promise to protect Athena the reincarnated Greek Goddess engaged in a war against dark forces. It is indeed a goddess who has the power to reincarnate and whose purpose is to defend the earth, thus coming back to life each time to protect the human race from the attacks of these various oppressors or attackers. Saint Seiya: Season 1
The manga series reveals the adventures of a group of 05 bronze knights led by Seiya of the constellation Pegasus. Seiya is then the main hero. The 04 other members of this group are: Shiryu, Hyoga, Shun and Ikki, all from different constellations. You will also meet them from the start where they compete in a tournament to recover the golden armor of Sagittarius. Thus, they have a mission to protect Saori Kido, who is the reincarnation of the goddess Athena.
This is a manga which is divided into several chapters which are further divided into sub-chapter called arc. In the first chapter, there are: arc sanctuary, arc asgard and arc Poseidon. In the second chapter (Hades chapter) Sanctuary arc, Inferno arc and Elysion arc. In these chapters they fight alongside the goddess their enemies Poseidon and Hades. And we can say that they have fulfilled their mission.
