The European Heritage Days are ideal opportunities to (re)discover your city but also to be tempted by original activities. The programming in Lille (North) is very busy but some activities or visits stand out for their originality.

Activities for everyone at the Natural History Museum
On the occasion of the JEPs, the Natural History Museum is planning numerous guided tours as well as workshops. Visitors will thus be able to meet the blob of the museum, it is a unicellular organism which is neither really a living being nor a fungus. The more curious can attend a conference given by Vinciane Despret on the theme of animals. The museum also offers a creative workshop: the creation of a giant fresco on paper.
Demonstration of medieval fights
A stone’s throw from the Hospice Comtesse museum, the REGHT association (Research and Experimentation of Historical and Technical Gestures) is offering a historical reconstruction of medieval battles on Saturday. Different weapons and fights will be presented between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The visit of a Nougaterie
A visit which is enough to make the mouths of children but also parents water. In Fives, Grégory Legrand offers visitors the opportunity to discover the artisanal production of old-fashioned nougat. Visits will be held every hour on Saturday and Sunday between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
A dive into the world of cinema
On Saturday, the Universe cinema offers an anthology of activities and screenings. At 2:30 p.m., the cinema will show the documentary “Microcosmos, the grass people” before offering an activity around photography. Throughout the day, it will also be possible to participate in guided tours presenting what is happening behind the screen. At 6 p.m. the cinema offers a back-to-school drink as well as the screening of two films around the theme of animal life. To attend these activities it will be necessary to have reserved beforehand.
The escape game
In order to visit the emblematic places of Lille while having fun, nothing better than an escape game! On September 17 and 18, visitors will be on a mission to prevent the biggest hack in history. To do this, they will have to solve puzzles throughout the city. To participate in this outdoor escape game, players just need to download the John Doe app and go to Lille Flandres where they can start their quest. The application will be free during the JEPs.
Learn to meditate
The Kadampa Lille meditation center offers half-hour initiation sessions all weekend long. On Saturday, two sessions are offered: one at 2:30 p.m. and the other at 3:30 p.m. Sunday you can discover meditation at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. This activity is accessible to all and requires no reservation. Something to clear your mind with your family.
Become an archivist during a visit
The departmental archives of the North offer guided tours and workshops throughout the weekend. In particular, they offer a workshop allowing visitors to slip into the shoes of an archivist for an hour. They will have to carry out the daily missions of the archivists. Other workshops and conferences are planned throughout the weekend. To be able to access the workshops, a reservation is necessary.
