After a stressful and still very anxiety-provoking year, summer vacation is finally coming to an end. To take full advantage of it, we are going to give you the keys to take the pressure off and avoid stress. Reiki can help you with this. Discovery of this practice of relaxation and meditation with Sabine Boulay, practitioner in traditional Reiki.
What is Reiki?
Reikibunseki, or Reiki, is a Japanese practice developed in 1922 by Mikao Usui. It was then imported to the United States and around the world. It is an energy practice where the person lies fully clothed. The practitioner will relax it with a light touch. There are twelve different places to touch to relax the person thanks to Reikibunseki, and the practitioner is himself in meditation during the session, which makes it possible to relax the “client” and bring him into a state of relaxation. The combination of relaxation and meditation can release tension.
Is this practice supervised in France?
Reiki is not a medical or contracted practice, but a certified energy practice, with a French federation (the FFRT). Practitioners follow a one-year training course at the end of which they pass an oral and written exam. There are also master practitioners, who obtain this degree after three years of study (one year to be a practitioner, then two additional years). This course is a work on others and on oneself, since the practitioner must be able to be in meditation during Reiki sessions.
What are the benefits of Reiki?
Reiki is a true work of accompaniment. Practitioners can help with stress or psychosomatic pain. Master practitioners, on the other hand, can respond to deeper, more emotional demands of the client. It is a real work of accompaniment. When there is pain somewhere and it is not medical, there is a good chance that it is psychosomatic. Reiki sessions can then help make this pain go away quickly. Reiki is also effective on temporary depression.
When should you do a session?
Do not wait to be completely tense. Reiki will remain effective, but it will take longer, it is gradual. The best is to do a session regularly, a few times a year. We can also practice it in everyday life, by taking a relaxing break, where we cut ourselves off from what surrounds us.
You have to undergo a year of training to be able to practice on other people. At the end of this year, you will take an exam to obtain your certification. As for the practice on yourself or on your partner, it is simpler and does not require specific training.
The self-practice takes place in three stages:
1) The first step is to cleanse yourself, that is, to fill up with positive energy so as not to transmit your negative emotions to the other person.
2) The second step is to focus and put all your attention on the other person.
3) The third step is to feel the energy flowing from your hands into the other person’s body.
You can also practice Reiki on your partner or a close friend. The steps are the same as for self-practice, but you will need to ask the other person’s permission before starting the session.
Reiki is a very effective way to relax and reduce stress. It’s also a good way to learn to meditate and focus your attention on the present moment. If you want to learn more about Reiki, I recommend finding a certified practitioner near you and trying it out for yourself!
