The Nature Day, set up by the City of Schiltigheim with its associative and institutional partners, highlights initiatives in favor of the protection of the environment, biodiversity, ecological transition and the climate. It makes it possible to discover a host of ideas, projects and achievements which, each in their own way, concern sustainable development. In all, no less than thirty stands will offer games, workshops, walks, nature sports or the sale of plants on Saturday.
At the Parc de la Résistance (route de Bischwiller), outdoor sports will be in the spotlight. It will be possible to learn about yoga, relaxation and meditation, but also to take up Nordic walking or explore Schiltigheim with the walkers of the Club Vosgien. City officials will show how they put the principles of sustainable development into action.
Animal protection at the heart of concerns
Animal protection will not be forgotten. The League for the Protection of Birds (LPO) offers walks, near the Resistance Park, to discover the sites where peregrine falcons nest. The ApiHulk association will explain how to create floral fallows to provide resources for bees. It will be a question of safeguarding the great hamster of Alsace with the NaturOparC. As it is sometimes complicated to cohabit with all types of critters, we can also learn the simple gestures to clear the tiger mosquito with the Syndicate for the fight against mosquitoes of Bas-Rhin.

Musical entertainment, organized by the students of the School of Arts, is also scheduled for 10.30 a.m. at the Parc des Oiseaux.
To get to Nature Day, “think about soft transport”, reminds the City of Schiltigheim. Bicycle parking will be set up for the occasion. Event participants can also use public transport: bus lines 50, 60 and L3 stop near the park.
