Miranda Kerr reveals her secret to delaying wrinkles… A natural anti-aging elixir contained in a powerful and little-known superfruit

How was your skincare brand KORA Organics born?
Miranda Kerr- As a teenager, the use of clean and certified organic products was very important to me because my mother was diagnosed with spleen cancer. My family inquired and learned that many products we use every day (from household to food to beauty) contain potentially toxic chemicals. It was a shock to see how some ingredients could be carcinogenic, yet still available on the market and deemed safe… Even products that claimed to be natural and/or organic weren’t really!

I learned so much from this experience. It was also a turning point when I realized the importance of taking care of the body from a holistic point of view. Our skin is the largest organ of our body, it is important to provide it with the purest ingredients, because it soaks it up.

I wanted to create KORA Organics because I couldn’t find certified organic skincare that gave me the results I needed.
In 2006, a friend first introduced me to an aromatherapist who made certified organic essential oils. She put me in touch with her chemists. We started chatting. My goal was to find out if it was possible to create powerful products, with visible results and certified organic in accordance with theECOCERT/COSMOS. They told me it was doable and warned me of the commitment and investment of time and money it would require. To make this happen, I decided to invest my own savings earned through my modeling career.

Can you tell us about the holistic approach of KORA Organics products? What assets are used to achieve this?
Miranda Kerr- All products contain Noni extract, a superfruit that I have been using since the age of 13 thanks to my grandmother who revealed it to me. Noni fruit is very rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. It is recognized for its regenerating and anti-aging properties. It protects the skin from free radical damage, which can lead to signs of premature aging and skin sensitivity.

What is the best-selling brand? Why do you think?
Miranda Kerr- This is our face oil Noni Glow Face Oil and it is also the first product we launched. This is my sacred oil. I have been using it religiously morning and night for over 10 years! I apply it after the mask Turmeric Brightening & Exfoliating Mask 2-In-1. The combination of the two creates a real facial treatment at home. It helps to even out skin tone and texture to make it look radiant. Whatever your age, skin type or concern, it makes the skin more beautiful and healthier!

What is your favorite product?
Miranda Kerr- This is the mask Turmeric Brightening & Exfoliating Mask 2-In-1. I’m obsessed with exfoliators and face masks. So I wanted to create a product that can be used both as an exfoliator and as a detoxifier. I wanted it to deliver a radiance like coming out of a Spa and that it could be applied at home or while traveling, in one simple step and in less than 10 minutes. It brightens, deeply cleanses, reduces redness and evens skin tone. I spent a lot of time developing it and knew exactly what results, texture and consistency, I wanted to achieve. It took over 18 months in total to achieve this and I am so happy with the end result! It is one of our cult products.

How does it feel to establish your KORA Organics brand in France? How did you celebrate this event…?
Miranda Kerr- It’s a dream come true and I wanted it since the creation of KORA Organics in 2009. In 2018, we even had our packaging translated into French in order to be ready when the time came. We celebrated in Paris with the amazing team at Sephora. I organized a dinner at my house for the collaborators who worked on this very exciting launch.

Do you have an Australian beauty secret to share with the French?
Miranda Kerr- At a very young age, I learned the philosophy that health is wealth. I grew up in a small country town in Australia called Gunnedah in a family that was, and still is, very health conscious. My parents and grandparents raised me with this awareness of well-being and made me aware of the importance of organic.

Model, mom, entrepreneur… You have a busy schedule. How do you take time for yourself?
Miranda Kerr- To give the best of yourself, you have to feel good. Taking care of yourself is paramount, that’s how I disconnect. But getting there is a long road, especially when you’re a mom. If I take just 30 minutes to do something for myself, be it meditation, exercise, or reading, it makes a big difference. I love massages too. It helps me mentally and physically!

Shine your little light!

What is your wellness ritual?
Miranda Kerr- It comes down to daily exercises, meditation and a balanced diet (the 80/20 rule). I do personal development when my children are sleeping. I usually wake up at 5 a.m. every morning, which gives me about an hour to take care of myself, whether it’s doing meditation, sports, skincare…

I exercise every morning, it clears my mind and gives me energy, even if it’s only 30 minutes. It keeps me motivated and increases my productivity. It also helps me handle stressful situations and make difficult decisions more easily.

I have a ring Oura Ring which tracks my sleep and calculates my steps during the day. These analyzes encourage me to go to bed a little earlier. Diligence and consistency in each of these things makes a huge difference in how I feel.

What is your secret in case of a slack?
Miranda Kerr- When I feel tired or exhausted, I put my feet on the grass, I open my palms towards the sun and I visualize my whole body filled with this golden light. It instantly helps me feel good and (remove “that”) boost my energy.
