These were not tears of sadness, anger or mourning that were streaming down my face on July 6, 2020. It was quite the opposite, they had another name: freedom. For two weeks, I cycled through France and rang doorbells asking for hospitality. This guided me to a meditation course. Once finished, I headed for the Pyrenees. Damage cut short my dream by taking me, my head aching, to the other side of the mountain range. This is where my last journey began: between ecological volunteering and multiple encounters, I discovered a benevolent world that made me grow. This trip brought out my demons. While listening to them, I was able to continue my ascent and discover that I am no longer afraid of chickens. For Romuald Guervilly travel is above all an encounter with a country and people. After having read many adventure stories such as Hors Système des Fortin, Tara Tari by Capucine Trochet or Vivre by Élisabeth Revol, he wants to go away, escape and find this famous freedom present in each story. . So in July 2020, he decides to go on a trip and be the main actor of his journey. He leaves his comfort zone and leaves Brittany. Through his writing, he wants to show that anything is possible if you are ready to experience unknown and embarrassing situations, and that you should not wait until all the lights are green to take a new path. He writes to bear witness to the beauty and richness of encounters, while explaining the impact that this can have on people.

Meeting with Romuald Guervilly (author of “I’m no longer afraid of chickens” published by Baudelaire), organized by the cultural department of Goudelin, around questions led by Cathy Raoult. He will share his experience as an author and adventurer (writing experience, explanation of passages, words, encounters, etc.). For one hour, you are invited to take part in the discussion by asking your own questions. No need to have read the book to learn about this meeting. No need to pay to share this convivial moment which will also be followed by a drink.
