Gwyneth Paltrow reveals to the “Echos” some of her sources of well-being, from Pilates to the sauna, from walking to Japanese whisky.

You are the head of a company of 200 people estimated at 390 million dollars. What makes you most proud on a daily basis?

For having created a provocative company that works for the cause of women. Goop launched topics that at first seemed outrageous but are essential, and often taboo, like women’s self-confidence, sexuality, ending a marriage in friendship… I’m very proud of that but also our products: I make them, I use them, I’m obsessed with them!

Goop unveils its list of “ridiculous but wonderful” Christmas gifts like a satin baguette bag and all sorts of feel-good recipes. What favors yours?

I practice fasting, meditation, infrared sauna sessions… I do more than an hour of sports a day, Pilates, dance and long walks, I love to walk. I also like to enjoy a glass of Japanese whiskey or fries… Food is a great way to regenerate. When I eat well, I feel good. Healthy food is often associated with the idea of deprivation, this is a mistake. She brings a lot of fun!

You have written several cookbooks, do you have a favorite recipe?

There are many ! I love to cook. It feeds me to take care of others. But I think, above all, my family loves my turkey bolognese.

Why did you agree to participate in the Bold Woman Award?

It’s in my philosophy to support women entrepreneurs: I invest in their projects, I put their brands in the spotlight on Goop. It’s very inspiring to see how other entrepreneurs are implementing their ideas. The world will be better off if women have access to capital and power. But doing business for women is always a challenge, to raise funds, to be credible… In my case, it was even more difficult because people, knowing me as an actress, didn’t take me seriously as a businesswoman.

Gwyneth Paltrow: “As an actress as as a CEO, you have to stay motivated, never give up. »Mirador Sthanlee B./SPUS/ABACA

However, there are commonalities between the two worlds…

Yes, as an artist, as as a CEO, you have to stay motivated, never give up, believe in yourself even if no one else believes in you or you are told that you will never make it… When you start a business, you have to be convinced of its success.

Your currency ?

Be yourself at all costs! Happiness must come from you, never from the eyes of others.

In college in New York, you were in a choir called Triple Trio, do you still sing?

Only in the shower.

A book for fun?

From JD Salinger, of course; But recently, I started to read poetry again, the texts of ee Cummings, David Whyte or the Iranian poet Rûmî…

Right now, what would make you most happy?

Probably a cigarette! I started smoking again on the set of The Tenenbaum Family because my character smoked a lot. But I quit five years ago. Then a glass of champagne will do just fine…
