Do you need peace?

Today, our meditation we leads in the gospel of Jeans, to chapter 1 and to verse 14 : And the Word has summer done flesh, and she has reside among we, full of grace and of truth ; and we have contemplated her glory, a glory as the glory from Son unique came from Dad. »

For Well understand this passage, he is important of read them all first words of this Gospel. Jeans begin his gospel by a introduction on the Word done flesh. He will say : At beginning was the Word » (Jeans 1.1), that is to say the “logos” in Greek. Jeans wants say than before all thing, before everything this who exist, before the creation of the universe, God was present.

Thereafter, John affirms in a clear and distinct way the perfect divinity of the Word made flesh. He will say he who is the Word became man and lived among us (John 1:14). These words: “The Word became man”, speak to us of Jesus, God who manifested himself in flesh and bones. Jesus who was 100% divine with God came to earth, he took the form of a man, he lived among men, he carried our faults out of love for us so that we could be reconciled with God. The coming of Jesus to earth, the Word made flesh is the very essence of Christmas.

Even if we are believers and love Jesus, it is possible to miss what is most important at Christmas, which is Jesus. We can be caught up in a whirlwind of activity: the mad rush to the shops to buy gifts for everyone wishing to have good ideas, and above all without forgetting anyone. There is also all the preparation for Christmas Eve, the cleaning of the house. We can also miss Christmas because we are afraid to see certain people again during family gatherings, afraid that there will be discord or hurtful words.

For you, maybe it’s loneliness, maybe you won’t see your children or your grandchildren this year and that saddens you deeply. I don’t know how your Christmas is going to go, but through the whirlwind of life, I’d like to give you a good reason to celebrate Christmas. This reason is Jesus!

The prophet Isaiah announced the coming of Jesus. In Isaiah chapter 9, verse 6, it is written, “For a child is born unto us, a Son is given unto us, and dominion shall rest upon his shoulder; he will be called Admirable, Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

No matter what you’re going through, no matter what you may be going through today, you can have a peace-filled Christmas. The Word was made flesh so that we could have peace, spiritual peace, that is, peace with God. This peace will last all eternity. But also, Jesus came for us to have emotional peace, inner peace, peace in our soul despite and through the difficult situations that we may go through. Jesus promised it to us, he said: “I am leaving, but I leave you in peace, it is my peace that I give you. I do not give it to you as the world gives it. Therefore, do not be troubled and have no fear in your heart. (John 14:27) In Romans chapter 5 and verse 1, it is written, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” »

I want to encourage you today to ask God to give you His peace. The absence of problems is what the world calls peace, but with God it is possible to have inner peace despite unresolved problems. I tell you with confidence and assurance because I have already experienced it personally. As I was going through a really tough time and dreading the Christmas party and my thoughts were swirling all over the place, I stopped, went to my room and asked God to give me his peace and he did.

If he did it for me, he’ll do it for you.

Do not hesitate to ask him to give you his peace in all the situations you are going through! He will do it because he is the Prince of peace, Immanuel, God with us (Matt. 1.23).
