The organization of the body and an “other self” in confrontation with gravity

Gravitation or the law of universal terrestrial attraction, discovered by Isaac NEWTON, turns out to be a force responsible for the fall of bodies.

When we get up in the morning we exert antagonistic forces to those of the earth’s gravity which presses us to the ground. From then on, we could name this habit linked to bipedalism “habitus of bipedalism in Sapiens”. Humans will therefore be differentiated from mammals by bipedalism.

Initially we have Homo erectus

Apart from some great apes and bears that occasionally adopt the bipedal station, we are indeed the only mammals to have adopted it structurally. This transformation has (would have) “shaped” organisms and notably allowed spoken and articulated language, the modification of limbs and bones, the dexterity of hands and fingers, countless micro-changes ranging from unicellular to multicellular or metazoan protists and finally to the animals from which we come, Eric KARSENTI, 2018, (1).

In this letter, we attempt a big difference by proposing to interpret – for a better understanding of our human reality and our physiological possibilities and limits – and at the same time to evaluate our adaptive possibilities and limits.

These physiological possibilities would have been codified genetically in particular in reaction to the forces of gravity, and would have, by compensation, developed another unconscious potential organic self that we only seem to discover late. We are going to “see” it, or rather we should feel it, notably through what we have called dreams with their experienced and felt dynamisms.

To realize our physiological conditioning to gravity, let us note that the cosmonauts who stayed for long periods in 2021 in the international space station at an altitude of 400 km, in a confined weightless space devoid of gravity, present on their return consequences on earth that will have modified their physiology.

Thomas PESQUET evokes these physiological and organic changes found in all the cosmonauts who stayed on the space platform. Thus, the esophagus grows due to peristalsis exacerbated by the pushing of food boluses towards the stomach; the same goes for the intestines which must force it unusually to evacuate the waste. The bones are weakening and the muscles are atrophying… We are awaiting the study of the consequences of weightlessness on the rhythms of sleep and the production of dreams by cosmonauts.

On earth other “forces” or motivations which seem to animate us and which make us get up in the morning can encourage or slow down vitalism, inhibit it. But should we have recourse to strictly normal or pathological physico-chemical explanations to account for this special vitalism? Claude Bernard, (1813-1878), spoke of this “medicating vital force” in “Principles of experimental medicine” which, in fact at the time, explained nothing.

We would have at the bottom of our cells, self-organized and grouped into organs then into organisms, a vitality which was denied by many researchers and philosophers unaware of the very real forces that gravitation mobilizes and currently reveals in cosmonauts. And this while the living, according to Eric KARSENTI, would for example be “self-organized” (1) as soon as it leaves the oceans confronted with gravitation! This is where the first crawling animals on dry land would indeed have encountered gravitation, according to a very old “odyssey”. Gravity in the seas and oceans is in fact canceled as in the in-utero embryo, need we remind you?

On earth, we humans have faced gravitation by gradually adopting bipedalism according to an “adaptive drive that would distinguish us” codified over several billion years and in all unconsciousness. The organism as we know it would have differentiated itself in reality from other mammals in the context of Earth’s gravity. We become aware of this when the environment reveals itself in a state of weightlessness. The organism then loses its habitus and the initial vitalism becomes disorganized and becomes unsuitable (temporarily, hopes Thomas PESQUET) to the new electromagnetic and cosmic conditions.

The discovery of “liberated motor skills” according to pediatrician Alfred GRENIER

Already the hospital pediatrician Alfred Grenier (2) had highlighted some of the “hidden” perceptual and motor capacities of the newborn 35 years ago, by describing the behavior of the baby with “liberated motor skills” from the first days after birth. . This while holding his neck. I was present in Cannes during the second world congress of infant psychiatry, in 1983, when he presented his first findings, with supporting film. We see him, during his first medical examinations, holding the neck of a 4 or 5 day old baby (thus reducing the force of gravity) when the latter grabs the doctor’s stethoscope. The audience was taken aback, no protest arose in the assembly! The pediatrician has been striving since that time to modify the theories set out by the psychologist Jean PIAGET who claimed that the baby was incapable of such “sensory-motor” exploits before 3 or 4 months.

Before going further, it is essential to remember that on the surface of the earth an object or a being, here the baby, is subject to gravity, a phenomenon by which any object “near” the earth is attracted towards her. The weight of an object on earth corresponds to the gravitational force exerted by the earth on this object. What will have been the discovery of the pediatrician Grenier? By holding the neck of the baby with a weight of about 1.5 kg, it thus reduces the attractiveness of the earth. The baby then grabs hold of the stereoscope, his motor skills partly “liberated”. This discovery enthused the doctor, so much so that he continues, even today, to try to convince the academic intelligentsia very attached to the orthodoxy of Piaget’s theses – himself not sensitive to gravitational attraction.

Let’s hope that the introduction of our subject has produced an a priori receptivity. I would propose that at the unconscious level we would have integrated this gravitational pressure vis-à-vis which we could not free ourselves from a more or less shaped habitus (a way of acting, thinking and being) by the syndrome of the inhibition of the action, such as the Professor will have described it. The opposing forces to this inhibition would be triggered during dreams or nightmares, by compensation. This process would naturally engage during our sleep according to compensatory dispositions. These would have emerged through motor images potentially carrying energies to try to influence our organism without its knowledge. This last hypothesis could make one think of dreams such as those that Gaston Bachelard approaches in an insistent way.

Cerebrospinal fluid, a vital fluid

A recent study conducted by three researchers, CHAGNOT Audrey, RAUCHS Géraldine and VIVIEN Denis (3), announced with the evocative title: “Twenty thousand leagues under a skull”, presents a new reality within the brain bathed in cerebrospinal fluid. which beats to the rhythm of the heart. Breathing and standing postures would affect it like “tides”. . The brain would function “by floating” via the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) isolating it from gravitational forces. The image of an “airlock” came to us from which would reveal another organic reality unsuspected until now by research in neuroscience. We could imagine that in the context of this “airlock” the dreams vitalized by the CSF and the neurogenesis generated by cerebral oscillations could occupy a central place devoted to a phylogenetic reconfiguration of organisms due to epigenetic imprints (therefore acquired) proven to be pathogenic. A bit like computer scientists reconfigure hard drives contaminated by bugs or viruses.

This is how research progresses: by the formulation of new questions.

The article describes within the brains of mammals (and therefore of man) a new universe outside gravity which could help us to establish links between sciences of the imaging productions of the brain, we think of dreams, and cerebral rhythms potentially at the same time. origin of the imaging brain. These researchers argue that “during deep sleep, the pulsations running through the CSF see their amplitude multiplied by ten compared to awakening”. This is compatible with the electrophysiological reality of cerebral neurogenesis during so-called “paradoxical” sleep.

Studies on sleep already tell us about its many somatic regulatory functions. Could they extend to psychic functions when we know that dreams are essentially enacted during “paradoxical” sleep with a high amplitude of synaptic connectivity?

The description of this reality isolating the brain from gravitation would subject it during sleep to genetic determinisms as if to deprogram it, uninhibit it from inhibition, and from its pathogenic epigenetic imprints as we had formulated the hypothesis in our work from of 2000. See on this subject: (4) and (5).

The study alone of these three researchers deserves inter and transdisciplinary promotion at the risk of renewing (radically?) the life sciences.
