Nothing is true… everything is possible

Lebanon represents an extraordinary human mass charged with such an extraordinary psychological energy. As strange as it may seem, this mass is not homogeneous. On the contrary, it is heterogeneous, but coherent. But stranger still is that the psychological energy of said mass is formed equally of a force of attraction and a force of repulsion. It is a balanced image of the Lebanese who is faced with two possibilities: either to surrender to the force of attraction that attracts him to Lebanon or to try to flee it, opening the way to the force of repulsion that pushes him to leave. away from Lebanon through misfortune or hatred. There is neither a compromise between these two contradictions nor a third choice. Either fall in love with Lebanon or flee its ghosts and smells! It seems that the world has surrendered to the force of attraction and discovered that it is in love with Lebanon.

I confess that I never found a clear answer to a question that constantly came to my mind about the secrecy and charm of my country, Lebanon, and the effect of these two elements on it. Is it the total respect of civilizations that gave birth to the values of human life, whether the product of manual labor (agriculture, writing, construction, metallurgy, sculpture, etc.) or the product of labor intellectual (theology, philosophy, law, mythology, poetry, music, painting, etc.)? This Lebanese human mass has two balanced components, Muslim and Christian, a rarity in the Muslim world as well as in the Western world, but which are also opposite, because they complement and attract each other! Lebanese Islam differs from the Islam of other Muslim states because it is mixed with Christianity. Likewise, Lebanese Christianity differs from Christianity in other states of the world because it is mixed with Islam.

Despite the existence of 17 denominations in Lebanon, they are all grouped into two categories: Muslim denominations and Christian denominations. Previously, all eras were similar. Christianity sprang from Lebanon and is deeply rooted there, while Islam took root with the conquests, and has become a modern and constructive Islam.

As for those who betrayed Lebanon, they unfortunately belong to both categories. The worst traitors turn out to be those who have forgotten their religion, their beliefs and their history. There are those who want Christianity in Lebanon to be modeled on Christianity in Iran, those who want Islam in Lebanon to be modeled on the Islam of Gaddafi, Hafez and Bashar al-Assad, those who seek only the power.

But, at the present time in history, the crisis turns out to be Shiite. How did we get to this abyss? How did the Shiites become pro-Iranians? How did the Shiites become supporters of Hezbollah? How did we get there ? Shiites, who suffered great injustice in the 20th century, were classified into three categories: 1) Shiites of leaders and families; 2) the Shiites of the leftist parties (three quarters of the Communist Party were made up of Shiites); 3) Shiite religious men who became very powerful with Moussa Sadr.

With the civil war, the Shiite communist blocs eventually disappeared. Only two blocs persisted: the bloc of leaders (such as Kamel el-Assaad and Sabri Hamadé) and the bloc of religious men. It was after the mandate of Amine Gemayel that the role of Kamel el-Assaad was reduced, and his fall led to that of Shiite leaders and families, leaving the field open to men of the Shiite religion who had formed, with Moussa Sadr , an important strength. With the disappearance of Moussa Sadr and the beginning of the Iranian revolution, then Israel’s entry into Lebanon and its withdrawal, men of the Shiite religion allied themselves with the Iranian revolution. Iranian policy was then imposed on Lebanon, isolating it from the Arab world. The result was the collapse of the economy, the judicial and educational systems, the depreciation of the national currency, etc. But the parliamentary elections of May 15, despite cases of fraud that have been detected, ended up bringing to power a majority opposing Iran and its party, and supporting the sovereignty and independence of Lebanon.

The same scenario was unfolding in Syria and Iraq. In the first case, the Assad regime was saved and Syria destroyed. In the second case, the work of the Iraqi Chamber of Deputies, the majority of which opposed Iran, was completely paralyzed, which obstructed the election of the President of the Republic, the appointment of the Prime Minister and even to the constitution of ministries. In Lebanon, Hezbollah will try to paralyze political life like Iran is doing in Iraq, otherwise we will end up with the same situation that prevails in Syria, so a civil war. And he wanted to try to paralyze it with the election of the President of Parliament. Nabih Berry has only a minority that supports him, but, since the speaker of Parliament must be Shia according to the national pact, he had to be re-elected for the seventh time and after thirty years.

Currently, we are faced with two scenarios: either Iran and Hezbollah continue to take over the country and the collapse continues with them, as is the case in Iraq, or the scenario of war in Ukraine will repeat itself here, a scenario where the states of the West help protect freedom and democracy in the free world by supplying arms to Ukraine and imposing an embargo on Russia.

The normalization of relations of three quarters of the Arab states with Israel, with the exception of Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, is a sign that the Arab-Israeli conflict will end and that it is finally time for a solution peaceful international community to this long conflict. The alliance of Arab states with Israel, with American support, is a sign that the West has woken up from its slumber to protect freedom and democracy in the world.

It is the second scenario which will probably materialize because the facts are established.

As for the first case, it will suffer a failure because the majority that managed to arrive in Parliament will not allow Lebanon to fall into the hands of Iran. The days to come will show that this new majority is up to the task.
