On October 21, 2022, Mission Nehemiah (MINE) organized a night of prayer, which had the theme “the mark of the sons of God”. This course was led by International President MINE in the person of Reverend Pastor Patrick KAPLO. From this teaching it emerges that the sons of the kingdom are characterized by marks.
Mark 1: Obedience
Obedience is attentive listening which implies submission; it is also submission of the spirit to a superior order. Indeed obedience has more values than sacrifices. In 1 Samuel 15:22-23 “22 Samuel said, Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obedience to the voice of the LORD? behold, obedience is better than sacrifices, and the keeping of his word is better than the fat of rams. 23For disobedience is as sinful as divination, and resistance no less so than idolatry and theraphim, since you have rejected the word of the LORD, he also has rejected you as king. »
This is based on the love of God and faith in him.
Jesus is the perfect example of submission, obedience as a son. Besides, Hebrews 5:7-8 said: ” 7It is he who in the days of his flesh, having offered with great crying and tears prayers and supplications to him who could save him from death, and having been heard because of his piety, taken, 8although he was Son, obedience through the things he suffered»
Obedience is the key to all success: by his obedience Jesus accomplished the work for which he came and by which we are saved. Likewise, it is through obedience that we can fulfill our destiny.
It brings perfect joy
It brings abundance: Abraham’s obedience to God’s instruction made him the father of a multitude, he who had only one son and had agreed to sacrifice him for the Lord.
Healing obedience: Naaman the Syrian general was cured of leprosy after he obeyed the prophet Elisha’s instruction to bathe 7 times in the Jordan. We can read it in 2 Kings 5.
Every act of obedience opens a new chapter in our life. But very often people are not blessed because they seek the method of men. But our blessing is hidden in obedience to God, his word. We have the example story described in John 5:1-16, of the paralytic from Bethesda who had suffered for 38 years and who was impatiently awaiting his miracle, but when Jesus asks him if he wants to be healed, he replies that he wants to, but that he cannot jump into the swimming pool quickly and to be cured. We see here that for him the only way to heal was to jump into the water first as was the custom at that time, not knowing that his healing was in Jesus. Then, Jesus said to him “get up, take up your bed, and walk”, he obeyed and “immediately this man was healed”: his obedience healed him.
This also includes obedience to parents. but nevertheless, let us note that this obedience must be done according to the Lord.
