HOMEWORK (continued)

Humility

“Say to them, ‘Who delivers you from the calamities of the earth and the sea, when you call upon Him in all humility and in secret, saying, ‘If He delivers us from this, we will be truly grateful.’ ” (6:64)

“God said, ‘Then get out right away; it’s not for you to be arrogant here. Exit; indeed, you are of those who have been degraded.”” (7:14)

“Call on your Lord in all humility and in secret. Verily He does not love transgressors.” (7:56)

“Undoubtedly, Al’lah knows what they hide and what they manifest. Verily, he does not like the proud.” (16:24)

“Do not walk on the earth boasting, for thus you cannot split the earth nor equal the mountains in height.” (17:38)

“Do not puff out your cheeks with pride, and do not walk the earth with insolence; verily, Al’lah does not love one who behaves arrogantly and boastfully. Walk with a moderate step and lower your voice; in truth, the most disagreeable voice of all is that of donkeys.” (31:19-20)

Justice

“O you who believe! Be steadfast in the cause of Al’lah as righteous witnesses; and do not allow the enmity of a people to induce you to act unrighteously. Always be righteous, for that is nearer to justice. virtue. And fear Al’lah. Verily, Al’lah is aware of what you are doing.” (5:9)

“And approach the property of the orphan only in the best way, until he comes of age. And give full measure and weight with equity. We oblige no one, except in the measure of his abilities. And when you speak, observe justice, even if the person concerned is a relative; and fulfill the pact with Al’lah. This is what He commands you, so that you remember it”. (6:153)

“Verily, Al’lah requires you to uphold justice, treat others with kindness, give as relatives give to one another, and He forbids indecency, overt wickedness and transgression. He urges you for you to come to fruition”. (16:91)

Promote peace between peoples

“Nothing good comes out of their secret meetings except when they decide to spend for the cause of the poor, to work for the public welfare, or to promote reconciliation and reform among the people. And whoever does so, by seeking the pleasure of Al’lah, We will soon grant him a magnificent reward.” (4:115)

“And if two groups of believers fight each other, make peace between them; then, if after that one of them transgresses the other, fight the transgressing group until they return to the commandment of Al ‘the H “. Then, if he returns, make peace between them with equity, and act with justice. Verily, Al’lah loves the righteous.” (49:10)

Patience

“And ask for help with patience and prayer; a difficult thing indeed, except for the humble in spirit.” (2:46)

“O you who believe! Seek help with patience and prayer; surely Al’lah is with the patient”. (2:154)

“And we will try you with fear and famine, with loss of riches, with loss of life, and with loss of fruit; but proclaim the glad tidings to the patients.” (2:156)

“Piety does not consist in turning one’s face to the East or to the West; the true righteous is he who believes in Al’lah and the Last Day, in the angels, in the Book and in the prophets, and who distributes his money out of love for Him to relatives and orphans, to the needy and to travellers, and to those who ask for charity; and for the ransom of captives; and he who performs Prayer and pays Zakat; and those who perform their commitment when they do, and the patient in poverty and in misfortune, and the constant and the steadfast in time of war; these are the ones who have been truthful and who fear God”. (2:178)

Perseverance

“And those who persevere in seeking the favor of their Lord, and observe prayer, and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and openly, and reject evil with good.” They are the ones who will have the best reward of the Final Abode. (13:23).

Purity

“Take alms from their riches, that with it you may cleanse and purify them. And pray for them, for verily your prayer is for them a source of tranquility. ‘Omniscient.” (9:103)

“A mosque founded on piety from its first day is more worthy of you praying there. There are men there who yearn to be purified, and Al’lah loves those who purify themselves.” (9:108)

“O you who believe! Do not follow in Satan’s footsteps; for he who follows in Satan’s footsteps must know that he most certainly commands immorality and manifest evil. And if there were not the grace of Al’lah and His mercy upon you, none of you would ever become pure. But Al’lah purifies whom He wills. Al’lah is the Hearer, the Omniscient”. (24:22)
