The links between cinema and cooking are old, there is no shortage of memorable scenes of great meals. Locronanais Christophe and Virginie Casazza have therefore decided to build a festival around these two worlds that fascinate them. The festival “Silence, it tickles!” », first of the name, aims first to highlight fiction feature films, but also documentaries or short films, on good food or wine.
The idea is to accompany the broadcasts of thematic meals, designed by local actors, with local products. Thus, for the first evening of Friday, September 23, after the screening, at 7:30 p.m., of “Chef”, a tasty film by Jon Favreau, a meal will be offered by the food truck of the Cantine Mutine de Douarnenez, and its organic cuisine. , local and vegetarian.
The concept goes even further with certain “goûstorama” sessions, a sacred concept! The principle ? During these original screenings, spectators will taste the dishes evoked therein while watching the film. “The choice of each dish is chosen according to the intensity of the action and the emotions aroused by the scenario of the film”, indicate the organizers, who will thus be tasting the range of whiskeys from the Eddu house (on the exhilarating ” La Part des anges” by Ken Loach) or the chocolates of the Cabana Cacao de Douarnenez. The promise of a funny sensory exploration.
Committed chef Xavier Hamon, from the University of Gastronomic Sciences and Practices, in conjunction with partner producers, will lead cooking and tasting workshops around themes such as “The abundant and little-known fish of Cornouaille”, “The art to sublimate the vegetables” or “Japanese cuisine with products from Cornwall”. Always related to films.
An Exploration of Best Practices
Also noteworthy in this gourmet programme, the holding on Saturday and Sunday, all day long, of a “Words and dishes” market on the Place du 19-Mars, with small producers and cookbooks. Also over the two days, a place called the Exploratory will highlight the practices that can be put in place to eat better, reduce waste and waste.
The closing evening on Sunday sums up the spirit of this new meeting, which is bound to be long-lasting. Three artisan cooks from the Alliance des Cuisinier·ères will concoct “papillary” soups from unsold food collected by volunteers. After the tasting, Eric Van Osselaer, sculptor and wild luthier will offer his amazing “The magical mystery soup”, a musical show with fresh fruits and vegetables!
