EastEnders spoilers: Jean Slater rocked by romance bombshell E! News UK

AFTER spending time in hospital for her mental health, Jean Slater turned her attention away from her love life.

But Harvey Monroe is in the spotlight once again when the cleaner finds out he’s trying to move on next week at EastEnders.

With their failed engagement and wedding still on her mind, Jean Slater tried to hold her head up high and focus on her well-being.

As BBC One viewers may recall, the character played by Gillian Wright was set to marry the taxi driver (played by Ross Boatman) during one manic episode.

Things took a turn when she wandered off alone in Southend and nearly drowned before being rescued by her daughter Stacey.

Since then, Jean has kept her distance from Harvey, going so far as to avoid him altogether when he returns to Albert Square.

Harvey understood that their relationship wouldn’t work after that.

The next week, believing it’s time for him to move on, Mitch Baker, Dotty Cotton and Freddie Slater encourage him to join a dating app.

But when Jean finds out that Harvey has been recommended to return to the dating scene, she feels jealous.

Later, her jealousy turns to sadness when she hears about Harvey’s developing love life.

Instead of admitting that she still harbors feelings for the driver, Jean shuts everything down.

She does her best to deny her own feelings for Harvey.

Unfortunately for her, reality quickly catches up with her when Jean overhears Mitch, Rocky and Harvey discussing Sophia.

Jean finds out that Sophia is none other than Harvey’s dating app match.

As mentioned above, Jean and Harvey were engaged after popping the question during a manic episode triggered by his bipolar disorder.

As they were ecstatic and ready to walk down the aisle together, Jean’s daughter, Stacey, picked up on all the warning signs.
