Are you confident in your relationship with God?

Sread the scriptures

Praise him for his great deeds, praise him for his immense greatness! (…) Let everything that lives praise the Eternal! Praise the Lord!
Psalm 150.2-6

In 1735, Englishmen John and Charles Wesley were sent by their church to America as emissaries. What were their qualifications? They had been given this assignment because church leaders thought they were religious. But, in fact, much about their life and their faith was not well known.

On board the ship taking them to America, they had the opportunity to assess their faith for themselves. Indeed, they crossed paths with believers whose faith impressed them. After returning to England, the Wesleys associated with other Christians who had strong faith.

Through these encounters, the Wesleys realized that they had not accepted Jesus as their Savior. These believers therefore led the two brothers to commit themselves. This time they knew they were born again.

Eleven years later, Charles wrote a hymn to commemorate his conversion. He writes these words:Lord, why don’t I have a thousand voices to sing your praises, and raise to the angels the glories of your cross !”

Charles expressed his gratitude: “Jesus, my Lord and my God, may your breath animate me so that through me your sublime name may resound in every place !” He adds that the name of Jesus “stops our tears” and “spreads joy, life and peace in our hearts”.

Are you overwhelmed with problems or worries? Are you confident in your relationship with God? Consider all he has done for you. Jesus died so that you would be forgiven and have eternal life. He sent his Spirit to give you strength and guide you. He has a plan for you and promises to provide for you.

As Charles Wesley wrote: “I no longer have fear, no evil overwhelms me. Your blood purifies the most guilty, your blood flowed for me.” You can receive this purity right now. Praise his name!

Elisten to the voice of God

We all want to trust our God, so let’s take the time to listen to what he wants to tell us.

Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer: Lord, I realize that I know you so little and so badly. Please come and reveal yourself to me in new ways. My soul longs for you, my heart thirsts for your love !”

Lpray to god

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. Today you can remember how far you have come with your Lord. Bless him with all your heart for his marvelous and beneficent presence in your life. Bless him for who he is and for all he does.
