And, without question, the mystery of godliness is great: he who was manifested in the flesh, justified by the Spirit, seen of angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed in the world, lifted up in glory. 1 Timothy 3:16 – The Good Seed – Christian Journal

Unquestionably, the mystery of godliness is great: God was manifested in the flesh, was justified in the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed in the world, was lifted up in glory. 1 Timothy 3. 16

Who is Jesus for the Christian?

Jesus is the man in whom God made himself known to humanity. By his life, his words and his teaching, he revealed to us that he himself is God; “God manifested in the flesh” that is to say, become man.
This fact is the heart of the Christian faith. Jesus is not only the envoy of God or the one who spoke in his name. He is God while being man. By birth, life, and death he is man, as he reveals God, who is spirit (John 4:24). It is a deep mystery (verse quoted).
The four gospels, in a complementary way, present this marvelous person to us. They tell us about his life and his teaching. The faith of Christians is based primarily on these texts, but also on the entire Bible. Jesus himself, beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, explained to his disciples, in all the Scriptures, the things that concern him (Luke 24:27).
Jesus gathered his disciples (John 11:52). He built what he himself calls “my Church” or more literally “my Assembly”, made up of all those who believe in him, called children of God. They have one essential point in common: their personal connection with the risen Jesus Christ. To be a Christian is to know that Jesus is the Savior who delivered me from the punishment I deserved, to give me eternal life. It is also to know him as my Master and my model.
